Hailey Train Station Bridals

Sometimes when I am working with my clients, I will take a step back and look at what I am photographing and have an overwhelming wave of emotions. I will look at my clients and think about how grateful I am that they chose me and trust me to photograph them, look around where we are and be amazed at the location and the beauty it holds, all while having a wave of peace and calm followed by a happy heart knowing that I get to do something that I love so much everyday and call it my job, when it truly does not feel like work.

Hailey’s Bridal session was one of those sessions that reminded me how truly blessed I am to capture photographs for a living.

It was a warm spring afternoon and at the last minute we had a location change due to venue scheduling problems. Hailey said her family knew a place and I am always up for a new location!

When I arrived at the Union Station in downtown Winston-Salem I walked in, sat my gear on the ground and stood in the middle of the station not moving for a solid 5 minutes. The shear vintage beauty of such a historical place in my hometown truly got away with me. When Hailey and her mom arrived, they too stood there admiring the beauty of such a place.

Once our jaws were off the ground, we helped Hailey into her dress and so began the session! She threw me for a loop when she asked if I was ready to see the part 2 of her dress, to which she started to remove her ballroom skirt and turn her gown into a fitted vintage look!

It was at this point, I was so excited from the beauty of the session that I started squealing out of excitement which in turn filled the station with laughs from us all.

There wasn’t a part of this session that did not fill my heart with true joy, and I am so lucky that Hailey chose me to capture her portraits in such a unique place.

Hailey, you have the best laugh and were truly a joy to photograph, thank you for reminding me why I love what I do so.stinking.much!

With Love,

Sam
