Vintage Styled Portraits

To know Jenn is to know style and fashion…especially vintage. In a day and time when things that were considered old school are coming back in to style, vintage for Jenn has always been in style. A sunny spring Saturday just as all the foliage is starting to bloom and the sun is begging to set, we head over to the farm for styled vintage shoot. Farm and vintage? Yes, Jenn’s two loves! She spends lots of time at the farm to keep her best friend, Spirit, company.

Jenn does nothing small or underrated as she loves to make a statement and we are all here for it! So of course she isn’t going to have just any best friend, she is going to have a beautiful retired draft horse who stands at 19 hands tall, making sure every head turns when he walks by. If your not up to date on horse lingo, 19 hands is equivalent to about 6 feet tall at his shoulders, when the average horse is 15 hands.

After hours of grooming and probably some cussing from both Jenn and Spirit, it was time to photograph the beautiful scene Jenn had created right from the history books. The elegance and beauty they both carried throughout the shoot took my breath away, it was something you would see in movies.

Spirit brought things back into perspective when he would try to eat Jenn’s hat or lift her dress looking for any hidden treats she might have on hand.

Anytime Jenn calls me with a photo idea I immediately say yes and look forward to that day for months to come.

Big thanks to Auntie Jenn as I call her, for always letting me capture her visions and document some of her favorite things!

All My Love,

Sam
